A few of you noticed that the screens in IntelliJ 12 were a bit different than in my instructions. I have updated the instructions just now, and I think that should help avoid further confusion.
There is also an extra section in the instructions: Installing the Android SDK:

Do that too, when you get a chance, and configure IntelliJ with Android as well. That’s a new step after configuring the Java SDK and before configuring Git.
I did not similarly update the Mac instructions, but these parts should be similar enough that you can make do following the Windows instructions. The biggest part where the Mac differs is in setting up Git and your SSH public key.
